Texas Renaissance Festival Offers Festive Fun For All


The Texas Renaissance Festival is the largest festival of it's kind, and starting at the end of September they'll be ready to celebrate over nine festive and fun weekends. From jousting to a crazy and entertaining costume contests to a swashbuckling weekend with Pirates, the Texas Renaissance Festival is a must-attend event to add to your calendar!

Throughout the event there are themed weekend that include Oktoberfest with for traditional German music and dancing. Of course, what would Oktoberfest be without bratwurst with a side of sauerkraut, and a thirst quenching stein of beer? They’ll also have three German-themed contests that include a Bavarian Costume Contest, Stein Holding, and a Bratwurst Eating Contest. How many Bratwurst can you eat?

Pirates invade and stir up some fun as well. Dress to the nines in your best Pirate gear and you could win the Best Dressed Pirate Contest. And, there will also be a Fish N’ Chips Eating Contest. Whether you come for the pirate antics or to join the crew in one of the contest, you’re certain to reel in a fun time at the Texas Renaissance Festival during the Pirate Adventure Weekend!

The witching hour is upon us and the Texas Renaissance Festival is ready to welcome ghouls, goblins, and spooks to their All Hallow’s Eve Weekend. The Royal Court is prepared for His Majesty’s Annually Decreed Tricks or Treats outing, and there will be many treats for all to sample. Stroll along the Jack-o’-lanterns and vote for your favorite, or create your own and enter the Jack-o-Lantern Carving Contest. The Transylvanian Performance Company will be on hand at the Revels Area near the New Market Music Gazebo to assist you in entering any of the contest, which are FREE to join. Explore the village shoppes or if you love Kettle Corn, then enter the Contest and eat your way to the winning spot! And, this is just the beginning of the festivities to experience at the Texas Renaissance Festival!

There’s plenty of time to book a reservation for RVs, trailers and traditional tent camp sites. The sites within the campground area are located next to the Texas Renaissance Festival, so you’ll never miss a moment of the exciting adventures and happenings. Onsite there are two camp stores with plenty of wares in case you run out of something. Food and drink vendors will be available with a variety of tasty items to feast on. Other amenities at the campsites include permanent and portable restrooms, shower facilities, and water and RV dump stations.
